Unlocked.ai, a career platform for job seekers and the companies hiring them, came to us for a full product design overhaul.
Our job was to redesign the desktop and mobile experience so it felt coherent, useful, and built with a real point of view.
For job seekers, Unlocked.ai helps people discover roles, prepare for interviews, understand their salary potential, and get career guidance from an AI assistant. For employers, it provides a cleaner way to post roles, manage candidates, and see where their hiring funnel needs attention.
The hard part was designing for 2 very different users without making the platform feel like two separate apps stitched together.
So we built the system around a few things:
→ A job seeker dashboard that makes progress visible, from active applications and messages to profile strength and matched roles.
→ An AI assistant, Jónsi, that explains why a role is a fit, helps users prepare for interviews, and acts more like a career coach than a chat widget.
→ An employer suite that replaces the usual bloated ATS experience with a clean view of job status, candidate activity, and pipeline bottlenecks.
We carried the same design language across roughly twenty screens, two account types, and native mobile.
The result is a client product that can be information-dense without feeling cold, and playful without becoming gimmicky.
When a platform has this many moving parts, the design system has to make the whole product feel like it was designed with intent.

Naming the AI assistant Jonsi and giving it an actual coaching personality instead of a generic chat bubble probably does more for trust than people realize. Was that framing something Unlocked.ai asked for going in, or did it come out of your own research into how job seekers actually want to be talked to?
