A client isn't buying your finished work. They're buying how you'll treat theirs.
Yet most studio sites sell themselves with a grid of polished results.
A finished frame hides what a client actually worries about: what happens between the brief and the result. Will they see it early? Can they still change things? Who is doing the work?
So when I build a brand's site, I look for a way to show the work while it's still being made.
On the site for Blind Alley Pictures, an animation studio I built from the name up, the cursor on desktop is a magnifying glass. Hold it over any finished scene and you see the rough pencil drawing underneath. That's also the promise I wrote for the studio: every Friday, clients get the rough pencil version, while anything can still change.
It works far beyond animation. A bakery can show the dough at 4 a.m. A furniture maker, the joint before it's glued. A brand studio, the sketches that didn't make it.
Your process is the part competitors can't copy. Put it where people can see it.
What does your work look like halfway through? Tell me in one line and I'll reply with how I'd show it.
