30 seconds of close quarters fighting
Close quarters fighting is one of the hardest things to fake convincingly, the impact timing alone can make or break it. What gave you the most trouble getting right in this scene?
In a nutshell, getting the right people to do the right thing, but there was a pretty easy fix for that 😀
The close quarters setup makes this feel intense right away, Victor. Even as an uncut scene, the environment already adds a lot of tension. Curious to see how the full sequence comes together

I wanted to create something that felt like a lost classic American historical epic but with one major limitation: there is nowhere to hide behind a cut.
The Last Blade is a continuous one-take sword battle where the camera moves directly through a massive medieval battlefield, following one warrior from the muddy front lines, through a castle gate, into a chaotic courtyard, and finally into a final duel.
Every movement was designed to feel physically connected. Sword clashes, charging horses, collapsing structures, smoke, rain, fire, and close-quarters combat become natural moments for the camera to move through the environment without breaking the shot.
The challenge wasn't simply making a big battle.
It was asking:
How cinematic can a battle feel when the camera is never allowed to cut?
I wanted the final result to feel like a scene from a huge old-school Hollywood sword film raw, physical, dramatic, and completely immersive — while pushing Seedance 2.5 to create the kind of continuous camera choreography that would normally require an entire production team and dozens of shots.

STORM HERD — 30 seconds, one continuous take, no cuts.
A herd of white horses stampedes across the slate rooftops of a nineteenth-century city while a thunderstorm tears the sky open behind them. The camera never breaks: it starts at hoof height on a rooftop ridge, lifts into the air as the herd charges past, drops into a chase behind them, threads between two galloping bodies, climbs above the roof valley, then dives and flies backwards ahead of the leaders to the final leap off the roof edge into open air.
The whole film is graded to a single cold palette — cyan-steel monochrome, blacks crushed to zero, highlights blown to pure white. The only light source in the entire 30 seconds is the storm. Five lightning strikes punctuate the take, and at the 16-second mark one of them blows the frame completely white for two frames, turning the horses into black cut-outs before the image recovers through a bloom haze. That flash is the hardest part of the whole piece — a full-frame whiteout is exactly where a model wants to cut, and holding the take through it was the technical problem I built the prompt around.
