Excited to share that I’m now a Rive Expert. 🚀
Over the past months, I’ve been diving deep into interactive UI, motion systems, and character animation in Rive. It’s been an exciting journey.
Looking forward to creating more interactive experiences and collaborating on exciting projects. ✨
Congrats on the Rive Expert badge! Character animation is the part I find hardest to get feeling natural in Rive. Any resource or workflow that helped it click for you?
Thanks! Honestly, I didn't have any specific resource. It was mostly a lot of experimenting. What really helped me was focusing on subtle movements instead of big ones. Playing with easing, bezier handles, tiny delays, and layering in State Machine (like having breathing on one...
Katy Sander and I joined forces to trap a demon and bind it to the Mac notch. He wasn’t happy about it. But he’s just as helpful as the other agents, and a lot funnier.
Meet Notchling. Hand-drawn, then vectorized and rigged in Rive. All animations, state machines, and timelines were built using the CLI, along with the ElevenLabs and Claude integrations that bring him to life in the final Swift package.
It's alive! It's alive! And it's... addicted to mobile games?
DOOMSWIPE -- Doomscrolling for monsters -- is my entry for the Rive Halloween Challenge!
This is what comes out when you pour an ounce of CLI, a drop of GPU Canvas, a spoon of craft, a cup of scripting, a web of state machine transitions, and a ton of intention into building something w/ Rive 🎃
ORBIT: Interactive Hero Concept (Motion-First Landing Page)
ORBIT is an interactive landing page hero concept built to show how motion can make a website feel alive without slowing it down.
What’s inside:
Cursor-reactive hero: floating cards, labels and glow move at different depths as the cursor moves.
CTA button states: hover lift, press squeeze with ripple, and a success morph with particles and a toast.
Dashboard cards: staggered entrance with count-up numbers, animated bars, a progress ring and a drawing line chart.
Interactive feature icons: each icon has its own idle, hover and active animation.
Smooth transitions: eased modal, toast and scroll, with reduced-motion support.
Mobile-friendly: responsive grid, touch taps, no sideways scroll from 360px to 1920px.
I tested all of the above with an automated suite (20 checks, all passing) and made a 45-second demo video with sound design.
Built with: HTML, CSS and JavaScript as a working prototype.
Need this in Rive? The same motion and interaction logic (hover, press, success states, cursor-driven movement, icon states) can be rebuilt as a production-ready Rive animation with a state machine and integrated into your website. Message me with your requirements and I’ll share a timeline and quote.
