It's been 1 year since I started... 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 Today marks the end of the first year since I started freelancing. The first thought came in March 2025, when I was constantly dangling between whether I should continue with my job or take the leap and go all in on freelancing. After dangling between the two for almost six months, I finally got fired from the job I was in. And to be frank, it felt like the universe was telling me, “Go do what you wanna do.” So I did. Initially, I just arranged calls with people, asked them to come on a meet and tried to build a relationship with them in the hopes that in the future they might like some of my work and would give me some work. It was a gamble, but I didn't had anything to lose. But you know that worked within 3-4 months. I had talked with 70+ people; a few of them still connected and, frankly, were still helping me grow. And believe me, for a shy, introverted kid that is a lot. If you have just started doing freelancing and you are not going anywhere, I would say just try to meet new people, talk to them, and engage with them in one or the other way. Watch YouTube, read books, learn, try, fail, get up and try again. I know it's cringe, but believe me, it is what works.
