StockPilot Inventory ledger for small retail shops
A full stack inventory tracking app built to replace manual spreadsheet based stock management for small retailers. Owners and staff log every restock, sale, and adjustment through a simple form; the system maintains an append only audit trail and automatically surfaces low stock alerts before a shop runs out.
Business outcome: Eliminates stockouts through real-time low stock visibility and removes the manual reconciliation work of spreadsheet based tracking.
Stack: React, Vite, Tailwind CSS, Supabase (Postgres + Auth), Recharts
Notable technical details:
Role-based access (owner/staff) enforced through Postgres Row Level Security not just hidden UI, verified by testing direct API calls that bypass the frontend entirely
Stock quantities can only change through a logged, immutable movement never edited directly, so every change is attributable and auditable
Database level constraints prevent stock from going negative or a movement's sign convention being violated, regardless of what the client sends
