People have been talking about this Dario Amodei quote from Davos that AI could do most of what software engineers do within 6-12 months.
What’s interesting to me is that he wasn’t just talking about better coding tools - he was arguing that software engineering may be one of the first domains to get close to full task automation (which could then accelerate AI progress itself)
Curious how this is showing up for freelancers here...
What parts of software work feel closest to full automation right now, and what still feels very far away?
it's their job to say these big statements, as their investments depend on it, if you want to really learn about the possiblities of AI stop listening to these hype creators sam altamn, Dario Amodei, elong musk etc and start listening to real fathers of AI Andrew ng and so on..

It will only ever be able to create an "average" response based on a data set and some parameters.

I beg to differ on the whole "AI is coming for copywriters" thing.
I'm a copywriter, 8 years in, with zero background in video or cinematography.
And today, I made a cinematic concept video in under 15 minutes on Renoise, a tool I'd never opened before, using nothing but a prompt I wrote the way I'd write a scene.
No tutorials. No prior knowledge. Just writing.
And honestly, that's the point. Prompting is scripting. The more intentional and specific your language, the better the output.
Writing isn't what AI replaces, it's what makes AI actually work.
It's what makes you multidisciplinary without having to start from scratch in a new field every time.
The video shows my full process walkthrough, me yapping included. The output isn't perfect, but if this is what 15 minutes and zero videography knowledge looks like, I'm curious what another hour would do.
If you're a writer wondering where you fit in all of this, you're already holding the most important skill. You just have to point it somewhere new.

Because the most cinematic thing in the world is not an explosion or a chase scene.
It is a woman lacing her shoes at full speed and still making it out the door.
