Happy Friday everyone! πŸŽ‰ As we head into the weekend, I wanted to askβ€”do you really take the weekend off, or are you still working away? For me, I’ve found that sometimes weekend nights are the best time for focused work when things are quieter. Anyone else with me on that? πŸ‘€

@Laureana Logioia Yes! βœ… Less noise & distractions is a good atmosphere for weekend productivity & creativity. I prefer to keep it to personal projects and admin, but sometimes getting a head start on upcoming client work. Enjoying a mid-week break is a nice counterbalance to productive weekends. 😎

@Laureana Logioia I couldn't agree more! Lots of uninterrupted time to do things that need focus. Do you work on the same things as you do during the week or something else?

@Kulshekhar Kabra mostly tasks that I couldn't finish during the week so I don't start my Mondays with a huge backlog

@Laureana Logioia I typically don't work on weekends! When I have trouble solving a design problem, most of the time revisiting on Monday with fresh eyes gives me a lot of clarity on which direction to take next πŸ—ΊοΈ

@Alex Brown This I agree with! If I ended Friday with a design problem, I used to spend my weekend figuring it out- sometimes even losing those 2 precious days.

@Laureana Logioia I am somebody who does not work on weekends! Need that time to rest, recover and go again the next week! πŸ’―

@Laureana Logioia, I typically work one weekend, then not the other. I burnt out doing 7 days a week, 10+hr days...
I'm curious what @Anslea Askew will say. I know the 15-day design challenge probably included weekends 🀩
@Morten Korshavn - last time I messaged you on the weekend you said "I'm relaxing with the fam". How do you balance this?

@Laureana Logioia it's hard to turn my brain off from work on Friday, but once Saturday morning hits luckily I can shut it off til Monday. The key is to not open Slack πŸ˜„. Weekend recharge is definitely important!

@Mike Roelens I agree it's definitely a bad habit... someone should take my computer away

@Laureana Logioia it varies for me! This weekend I am all caught up on client work so it will be relaxing time for me 😎

@Laureana Logioia I'm with you! I often find myself working on a quiet Saturday night

@Laureana Logioia 100% agree! I also find that as a freelancer, I always sort of 'working', even when I'm taking a break. There's always some ideas forming in the back of my head that I can't switch off!

@Cara Ellis @Laureana Logioia There's a concept and app called Pomodoro, that helps you concentrate and take deliberate breaks. It helps a lot

@Laureana Logioia I have tried many times without success to have a structured work itinerary but more often than not, motivationa and inspiration to work comes at odd hours. I may find myself doom scrolling all day, only to find concentration later in the night.
