I kept noticing that iOS Photos grid-to-detail interaction and figured I'd try rebuilding it for the web.
Tap a photo, and it expands from the thumbnail. Drag down to dismiss. A few details I spent some extra time working on:
- Spring physics instead of fixed durations
- Rubber-band resistance when dragging
- Keyboard + screen reader support
- Reduced motion support
Built in React with a small spring engine I wrote myself. No animation library.
This is really impressive!
