My process for writing SaaS onboarding emails that convert
Step 1: I sign up for a trial (as a real user would).
Step 2: I note every moment of confusion, friction, or "wait, what?".
Step 3: I map the user journey from signup → first value moment.
Step 4: I identify the ONE outcome that makes users say "aha!".
Step 5: I write emails that TEACH users how to get that outcome.
Most writers just rewrite marketing copy.
I approach it like a Product Manager: user-first, outcome-driven, data-informed.
Result? Emails that don't just sound good, they increase activation rates.
If you're a B2B SaaS company losing trial users in the first week, let's talk. DM me or comment below. I'm taking 3 clients next month.
