What happens when the language of Silicon Valley starts to sound like the language of scripture?
Inspired by Peter Thiel’s current lectures on technology and the Antichrist, I explored how Silicon Valley’s big promises resemble religious ones:
– Resurrection becomes cryonics
– Eternal life becomes longevity biotech
– The Kingdom of God replaced by interplanetary colonization
– The Messiah becomes the engineer, AI, or collective “we”
I designed a series of uncanny hero mockups imagining these as real startups. It’s part thought experiment, part design showcase, but ultimately, how belief systems can be branded and how branding can make belief systems.
