Is AI helping or hurting the voiceover industry?
A few years ago, many people predicted AI would replace a huge portion of voiceover work. Now that we've seen it in action, I'm not convinced the answer is that simple.
AI voices are getting impressively good, and for some projects they make perfect sense. But I find that many clients still value a real human voice—someone who can connect with an audience and bring authenticity to the message.
Maybe people just connect with people🤷‍♀️
What are you seeing?
The tax of inconsistency doesn't show up on your invoice, your customer pays it.
your homepage sounds warm and human, the onboarding email is a wall of legal, the pricing page says simple but the contract has three add-on tiers while the founder posts like a person, the company account posts like a press release.
none of it is bad enough to lose the deal on its own so it survives.
but every time the voice changes the buyer pauses and they don't say it out loud. they might not even notice they're doing it butthey just trust you a little less than they did on the page before.
do that a few times across one sales cycle and the deal quietly goes cold.
a nicer homepage won't save it, the best first impression in the world doesn't survive a second if the next things seems by a different company
