I reimagined Rembrandt’s Aristotle with a Bust of Homer as a living painting. Preserving the original composition and atmosphere, I introduced subtle movement and gave Aristotle a voice, allowing the centuries-old scene to unfold as a quiet dialogue between Aristotle and Homer.
Homer lived centuries before Aristotle, yet Rembrandt brought them together in one frame. I wanted to explore how art connects people across time. From Homer, to Aristotle, to us.

As an art history graduate, I’m fascinated by the decisions hidden beneath a painting’s surface.
X-rays of Vermeer’s A Maid Asleep reveal a male figure that the artist later painted out. That discovery became the starting point for The Man Beneath the Paint.
I imagine him trying to reach the sleeping woman as successive layers of paint erase his presence. She wakes to an empty doorway.
The film explores the fear of being forgotten through a physical act of painting. The man’s identity and his relationship to the woman are fictional; this is an imaginative response to a documented alteration, not a reconstruction of Vermeer’s intentions.

In 1895, John White Alexander painted a woman reclining in quiet elegance.... Her gaze heavy with longing, her white dress pooling around her like water. She was desired. But was she loved?
131 years later, she's still in the same pose. Same gaze. Same silence. But now the room is a Manhattan apartment at night, the fabric is satin, and in her hand — a phone. Glowing. Unread messages.
Nothing has changed except everything.

Inspired by Vincent van Gogh's The Potato Peeler (1885), The Last Worker imagines a distant future where automation has replaced almost all manual labor. One human continues the traditional act of preparing food by hand, even as machines perform the same task with perfect efficiency.
The work explores the tension between technological progress and human craftsmanship, asking what remains meaningful when machines can replace the act of making. I preserved the quiet, earthy atmosphere of Van Gogh's original while imagining its emotional afterlife in an automated world.
