Why I built Contra mobile

I use Contra constantly — so much that I had to save it as a web app on my phone just to keep it accessible. When I saw the Stitch Challenge, I knew exactly what to build: the mobile app Contra deserves.

I built a mobile-first concept for contra, reimagining the platform as a polished app for discovering creators, browsing community content, joining challenges, and managing workspace activity on the go. The project was inspired by how often I already use Contra on my phone as a web app, which made mobile feel like a natural next step for this challenge.

Using Google Stitch, I designed the experience screen by screen, with a focus on white editorial layouts, real human photography, clean black-and-white contrast, and the lowercase “contra” brand style to keep the concept feeling premium and believable. The prototype includes core app moments like splash, onboarding, public discovery, logged-in feed, and challenge-focused screens so it feels less like a mockup and more like a real product direction

Feedback : One challenge I ran into while using Stitch was control over the agent. At times, it kept generating extra windows or additional outputs even when I wanted it to stay focused on a single screen, which made the workflow feel less predictable.

I think Stitch would be much stronger with better ways to pause, redirect, or constrain the agent mid-process. A dedicated plan mode or conversation mode would help a lot, especially if it could follow instructions more reliably before generating, instead of jumping too quickly into extra variations or screens.
