Before you scale, ask: "Are my systems ready for 10x current volume?"

THE READINESS TEST:
QUESTION 1: Quality Under Load
→ Current: 10 clients/month, 95% satisfaction
→ At 100 clients/month: Can you maintain 95%?
→ If no: System needs strengthening before scaling
QUESTION 2: Team Capacity
→ Current: 2 people handle workflow comfortably
→ At 10x volume: Would you need 20 people?
→ If yes: System doesn't leverage, it just multiplies
QUESTION 3: Personal Involvement
→ Current: You're involved in 40% of operations
→ At 10x volume: Still involved in 40%?
→ If yes: You're the bottleneck, can't scale
QUESTION 4: Error Rate
→ Current: 2% error rate, fixable manually
→ At 10x volume: 2% becomes 10x errors
→ Can your system handle that?
QUESTION 5: Profit Margin
→ Current: 40% profit margin
→ At 10x volume: Will margin hold or compress?
→ If compress: You're scaling revenue, not profit
If you answered "no" or "compress" to any... don't scale yet. Fix the system first.
