Great design doesn't just look good, it converts. I've recently been working on two luxury fashion concepts that balance brand storytelling with conversion-focused UX.
One is a heritage-inspired knitwear brand. I focused on creating a clean, editorial layout that lets the product photography breathe because when you're selling premium knitwear, the texture and quality need to be the hero. The other is a seamless activewear brand launching a new leggings collection. The challenge here was different: high-intent shoppers want to see product details fast. I designed a "Shop Now" flow that reduces friction, highlights the "Seamless Collection" as a key differentiator, and surfaces bestsellers immediately. What I learned: - Luxury fashion needs editorial breathing room. - Activewear needs speed and clarity (users want to find their size and buy) - Both need mobile-first layouts because 70%+ traffic comes from mobile
I didn't just design these, I built them with clean Liquid, optimized for Core Web Vitals, and integrated with Klaviyo for email capture. From Figma to launch, I handled it all. One thing I want to understand deeply from each of my clients is what's the most important element of a fashion e-commerce site for them? #Shopify #ShopifyDeveloper #Ecommerce #FashionEcommerce #CRO #UXDesign #Liquid #DTC

The split between editorial breathing room for the knitwear brand and speed and clarity for the activewear brand is a useful distinction, a lot of designers would default to one template for both. When a client pushes back on giving up density for that breathing room, how do you make the case for it?

I always lead with behavior, not taste. For luxury brands, conversion often correlates with time on page, breathing room increases trust and AOV. I share data from past tests (Optimum Nutrition: editorial layout lifted conversion 8%) and offer a hybrid if needed: brand storytelling above, density below for discovery.
