A few months ago I led the mobile build for sportFX, an AI biomechanics coaching app that gives athletes pro-level 3D motion analysis straight from their phone.
The problem we were solving, real biomechanics coaching (baseball swings, golf swings, softball pitches) has always required expensive motion-capture rigs or a coach physically watching in person. Most athletes never get that kind of feedback.
We built an app that captures your swing on a regular phone camera, runs 3D motion analysis and AI-driven technique feedback, and gives you the kind of detailed breakdown you'd normally only get from a pro coach — heatmaps, frame-by-frame comparisons, personalized notes on your form.
It shipped in about 4 months, built local-first so analysis stays fast even with spotty connectivity at a field or batting cage, which mattered a lot for the athletes actually using it.
What stuck with me is how much AI can compress the gap between "elite training budget" and "phone in your pocket." That's the kind of problem I like working on — sports tech, health tech, wherever AI can make expert-level feedback accessible to more people.
If you're building something similar, let's talk.
