1.38 million people.
That's how many were affected when a magnitude 7.8 earthquake hit Mindanao, Philippines on June 8. 68 dead. 70,000 displaced. Hospitals evacuating their own patients. Networks down, phones dark.
When I was young, In 2005 our 7.6 quake killed over 80,000 people and left 2.8 million homeless. 19,000 of them were children, buried under their own schools. I grew up knowing that in a disaster, the people we lose first are usually the ones who couldn't get help in time.
And in those first minutes, just knowing costs time that you don't have. What's their blood type? Do they have a heart condition? Which medication can't they skip? In a hospital you'd run a test. In the rubble there's no test, no signal, and a stranger trying to help is left guessing. That's the gap First72 closes. A printed card answers in five seconds what a test would take hours to find, and in a disaster, those hours are the difference between someone living and someone not.
So I built First72.
On a calm day, while you still have everything, it turns your family's real needs into something that survives the disaster:
πŸ—ΊοΈ A live map of the risks where you actually live (real earthquake, flood and heat data) πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§ A plan built around your family: blood type, medications, conditions, who to call πŸ–¨οΈ A printable survival card. One for your fridge or wall, one for every pocket.
The website needs the internet. The card never does.
It's the fire extinguisher you hope you never use. Prepared in the calm, ready for the chaos.
