I participated in the #GiveItAGlow Challenge by Base44 to redesign the digital experience for a real local business.
I chose Lot's Unisex Salon, a growing salon in my neighborhood.
Problem The salon offers premium services and has excellent customer reviews, but most new customers come through referrals and walk-ins. Their digital presence doesn't effectively build trust or encourage first-time bookings.
Solution Instead of creating another brochure website, I designed a premium, conversion-focused experience with:
- An interactive Service Finder to help customers discover the right service. - Stronger social proof through reviews. - Better presentation of offers and packages. - A simplified booking journey focused on reducing friction.
Unfortunately, I couldn't complete the project because I ran out of Base44 credits before finishing the build.
Even though it's incomplete, I'm happy I stepped out of my comfort zone, explored a new platform, and focused on solving a real business problem through design.
