I tested 40+ AI design tools. Most failed. Here’s the simple workflow I actually use. I have a folder on my desktop called “AI Tools to Try.”

Last month, it had 47 bookmarks. Apps that promised to revolutionize design. Generate interfaces. Replace Figma. Make everything faster.

I tested most of them. Used them on real projects. Article posters, social content, research synthesis, design system cleanup.

Most failed within a week.

Not because they were bad. But because they didn’t fit anywhere in my actual process. They were solutions looking for problems I didn’t have.

The tools that stuck weren’t the most impressive ones. They were the ones that solved specific friction points I’d been working around for months.
