Circlo Gets You Out — Envato "Human by Design" Challenge
For Envato's Human by Design challenge, I made a promo film for
Circle — a safety-first event discovery app I designed for young
professionals in Indian Tier-1 cities.
THE FILM
Circlo, Circle's mascot, is done watching you scroll. He drags
you off the couch, down a glowing purple street, and into a
rooftop full of real people. No dialogue. No UI walkthrough.
Just a character making his case.
THE TOOLKIT
Every shot ran through Envato's AI stack: VideoGen for every
Circlo scene (image-to-video, character-referenced throughout),
MusicGen for the score, SoundGen for footsteps and ambience,
GraphicsGen for the closing card, and Devices Mockup for the
in-app screens.
THE HUMAN BY DESIGN MOMENT
Twice, I asked AI to touch my actual product screens — once
through a mockup tool, once through video generation. Both times
it quietly rewrote the text. "Safe Tribe" became "Sefo Tribe."
A clean screen came back with duplicated, ghosted copy layered
over itself.
Neither time did I try to prompt my way out of it. I pulled my
real screens back out, composited them by hand, frame by frame,
and kept AI exactly where it belongs in this project: building
the world around the product, never rewriting the product itself.
That's the line the whole film is built on. AI made the street,
the light, the sound. I made the app. I made the character's
face match itself in every single shot — checking ears, eyes,
and color against the original reference every time the model
drifted.

I created a short cinematic vertical ad for the Envato challenge.
I really like the challenge theme because it reflects something I strongly believe: AI is a powerful creative tool, but it's the human behind the creative vision, direction, and decision-making that elevates the final result.
For this entry, I directed the entire creative process, from developing the concept, selecting the right stock assets, creating AI-generated visuals, color grading, and assembling the final ad.

First Row Only — My Human by Design Entry
For the #EnvatoChallenge, I wanted to test the Human by Design theme rather than simply talk about it. In a world where AI and asset libraries offer almost unlimited options, I wanted to see whether removing most of those choices would make human judgment more visible.
If chance decided what I searched for and the first row limited what I could use, could I still turn those ingredients into something intentional?
That question became First Row Only. Four random words decided what I searched for, and every asset had to come from the first row. I could reroll, but only all four words together. Once I accepted a set, it was locked. The constraint removed the safety net of searching for the perfect assets. It forced me to recognize potential, make tradeoffs, and turn a random combination into a coherent design. I built a simple Chrome extension to keep the process honest.
On the fifth draw, I got FESTIVAL for the photo, TEXTURE for the graphic, SOFT SERIF for the font, and HERO as the poster word. The font direction wasn’t what I wanted, but the other ingredients had too much potential to ignore.
My Human by Design moment was choosing to build the base image myself. ImageGen could have produced a finished poster faster, and possibly even a more polished design than I could build on my own. But this wasn’t about outperforming AI. I wanted to own the typography, composition, and message, then let VideoGen extend my design into motion. Finally, I used SoundGen to complete the animation with a five-second festival sound.
Choosing the assets with the most potential, deciding what to create myself, and knowing where AI could take it further—that’s Human by Design.

My Human by Design moment: overriding it, mapping every detail to real psychology — handwritten letters for Grief, exploding dough for Hope, a vinyl record for Nostalgia, a "CLOSED" sign for Burnout, grenade chilis for Rage.
Started as a cookbook concept. Became a full brand — apparel, sunglasses, hot sauce packaging, campaign reels — one Envato pipeline, start to finish.
@Envato gave it a canvas. Human taste gave it a soul.
