Building SEO-Driven WordPress & Shopify Systems at Absolute Digital
Working as a Senior Engineer at Absolute Digital gave me the opportunity to build and optimize high-performance SEO-focused digital platforms across WordPress and Shopify for multiple industries.
My role was focused on bridging technical development with SEO strategy, ensuring every project was built not only for performance and user experience, but also for long-term search visibility and organic growth.
Developed and optimized custom WordPress and Shopify websites with SEO-first architecture.
Built scalable theme systems and custom features focused on speed, flexibility, and conversion.
Improved Core Web Vitals by optimizing rendering performance, lazy loading, asset delivery, and server response times.
Implemented advanced technical SEO structures including schema markup, metadata systems, XML sitemaps, canonical structures, and crawl optimization.
Worked on Shopify storefront optimization, custom Liquid development, app integrations, and conversion-focused UX improvements.
Built custom WordPress themes and plugin solutions tailored for content-heavy SEO campaigns.
Optimized page speed, mobile responsiveness, and frontend performance to improve rankings and user retention.
Handled SEO migration projects including platform migrations, URL mapping, redirect systems, and indexing preservation.
Integrated analytics systems such as GA4, Google Tag Manager, Search Console, and custom event tracking.
Collaborated closely with SEO strategists to align development decisions with ranking goals, content strategy, and technical audits.
One of the most valuable parts of this experience was understanding how engineering decisions directly impact SEO performance, traffic growth, and conversion rates.
SEO is no longer just content and backlinks. Strong technical foundations, fast loading systems, clean architecture, and user-focused experiences are now critical ranking factors.
Working across multiple client projects helped me sharpen my ability to build websites that perform well technically, rank effectively, and scale efficiently.
This experience strengthened my expertise in technical SEO, WordPress engineering, Shopify development, performance optimization, and scalable web architecture.

Storytelling for change: For this project, I planned, curated, interviewed, designed, and published a policy and advocacy focused storybook on the intersections of early childhood education, child welfare, school-based mental health, health equity (Medicaid, SNAP, Healthy School Meals), and Family Economic Security (Paid Family and Medical Leave), resulting in increased visibility, response, and participation in advocacy and awareness.
