"Just give me a site" is the most dangerous brief you can get from a client. It usually means they don't know exactly what they need yet.
Alex came to me needing a platform for his luxury golf simulator business. He tried to build it himself in Framer, got stuck, and asked me to skip wireframes and just deliver the final pages.
I hear this constantly on kickoff calls - founders want to accelerate the development timeline. They assume skipping structural steps will save days of work.
The reality is that building without a wireframe means you will rebuild the entire project three times. I mapped out the wireframes anyway.
On our next call, I didn't present them as a mandatory design phase. I simply showed the structure and asked if the layout matched his vision.
Seeing the stripped-down layout helped him realize his original booking flow would cause visitors to abandon the form halfway. We fixed the logic before touching any final design elements.
You can never skip the foundational process. You just have to reframe it so the client feels in control.
