Getting clicks is easy. Turning clicks into leads is where most campaigns break.
I audit a lot of Google Ads accounts for local businesses.
The traffic is there.
The keywords make sense.
People are clicking.
But the leads are not matching the clicks.
And that is usually not a traffic problem.
It is a Click to Lead problem.
This is what I see again and again:
1. The ad promises one thing, the landing page shows another.
Someone searches “emergency plumber near me” and lands on a generic homepage. They have to work to find the booking option.
2. The next step is not obvious.
The button is hidden. The form is too long. The phone number is not clickable on mobile.
3. The tracking is broken.
The business is getting calls and form submissions, but Google Ads only shows 6 conversions out of 100 clicks. So they pause a campaign that was actually working.
The journey should be simple:
Search → Relevant Ad → Relevant Landing Page → Clear Call or Form → Qualified Lead
If one step is off, you pay for the click but lose the lead.
And if your tracking is off, you make budget decisions from the wrong numbers.
That is why I spend so much time on the full Click to Lead setup:
Clean campaign structure, no broad waste
Ad copy that matches search intent
Landing pages that make booking easy
GA4 + GTM setup that tracks calls, forms, and qualified leads properly
Server-side tracking with
http://Stape.io so data is not lost
A campaign can look like it has 30 conversions.
But if only 5 are real booking enquiries, you are optimizing for the wrong thing.
I would rather have 15 real leads than 50 reported conversions that mean nothing for the business.
If you are running Google Ads for a plumbing, HVAC, roofing, or detailing business and your clicks are not turning into leads, feel free to message me.
I will take a look at your Click to Lead journey and show you where it is breaking.
What breaks more often for you: the landing page experience or the conversion tracking?
