Led the development of a WooCommerce-based e-commerce platform for one of Samoa's largest hardware and lumber retailers, as part of a broader digital transformation initiative to modernize the business.

The project went beyond standard e-commerce. Building for the Pacific Islands market meant solving problems most online stores never have to think about: catalog structures that work for both walk-in customers and online orders against the same inventory, payment flows that account for local banking realities, product categories that span everything from raw timber to construction hardware to home appliances, and an admin experience that the in-house team could actually run after handoff.

Working as the lead developer alongside a small team, I owned the technical direction — WooCommerce architecture, theme customization, plugin selection, performance optimization for variable internet conditions, and the data model for thousands of SKUs across multiple product categories. We balanced what's possible on a mature open-source platform against what's maintainable for a team taking their first step into running an online store.
