3 Challenges I Faced While Building a Job Market Intelligence Scraper

Building a job market intelligence platform was much more than writing a few scraping scripts. Here are three challenges I encountered:

1-) Anti-bot protection Many job boards actively limit automated requests through rate limiting, dynamic content, and bot detection. Handling these restrictions required careful request management and browser automation.

2-) Inconsistent data structures Every platform presents job information differently. Titles, locations, salaries, employment types, and skills often use different formats, making data normalization a significant part of the project.

3-) Missing and incomplete data Many job postings don't include salary, experience level, or employment type. Building a reliable preprocessing pipeline was just as important as collecting the data itself.

After overcoming these challenges, I built a structured dataset that powers NLP analysis, skill trend detection, and interactive job market analytics.
