I’m currently struggling to get work on Contra and haven’t landed a job there yet. I have a strong profile and a good track record on other freelance platforms, but I’m finding it difficult to get traction on Contra.
Can anyone share some advice on how I can improve and scale my Contra profile, attract clients, and start getting consistent work?
I’d really appreciate any tips, strategies, or personal experiences.
Thanks in advance!
My Experience with Contra: No Relevant Jobs for Editorial & Print Design
I subscribed to Contra Pro hoping to find freelance opportunities in editorial design and print-ready materials, including magazines, catalogs, brochures, and booklets.
Unfortunately, I haven’t received any relevant job opportunities in my field. As a professional editorial and print designer, this has been a disappointing experience.
My advice to fellow designers: Before investing in a Pro subscription, carefully evaluate whether Contra offers opportunities that match your specific services.
I’m sharing my personal experience to help other freelancers make an informed decision. I hope Contra improves its job-matching system and provides more opportunities for editorial and print design professionals.
That is a fair and honest write-up, and it is useful for other designers to read before they spend. Editorial and print work really does seem to be the thin spot in the jobs feed here compared to web and brand work. Have you found the Contra portfolio side helpful at all for...
Love seeing creatives grow and share their journey! ✨👏🏽
I’m also building, learning, and improving one project at a time. My journey is still in progress, but every step counts. Excited to connect with more creatives, learn from others, and keep putting my work out there. 🚀💻

Huge congrats Tiago! Well deserved feature 🙌 Saw your project on Contra's Instagram too - that dining interior grid layout is so clean and pro. Perfect way to end the day indeed!
