Day 2 & 3 | Closing Phase 1, Beginning Phase 2 🚀
A few days ago, I started my journey in the Figma Makeathon with a simple goal: understand the problem before designing the solution.
Over the last two days, I focused on completing Phase 1: Discovery & Definition while taking the first steps into Phase 2: Ideation & Structure for my project.
Phase 1: Discovery & Definition
Conducted competitive analysis using Figma Weave
Studied accessibility-focused platforms, review systems, and navigation experiences
Identified gaps, opportunities, and areas where existing solutions fall short
Gathered insights to refine the product direction
Mapped the user journey before Access Atlas exists
Mapped the user journey after Access Atlas exists

Biggest Insight So Far
Very few platforms help users understand whether a place is accessible for their specific needs.
That realization continues to drive the vision behind my project.

Entering Phase 2: Ideation & Structure
With the research foundation in place, I started translating insights into actual product experiences.
Created the first version of the design system using Figma Design Agent
Defined typography, colors, tokens, and component foundations
Sketched early concepts and wireframes on paper
Explored possible user flows and information architecture
At this stage, the goal isn't visual polish. It's making sure the experience solves the right problems before moving into high-fidelity design.

Exploring the Figma Ecosystem
One of my goals for this Makeathon is to fully embrace the Figma ecosystem throughout the process.
So far:
Figma Weave → Research & Competitive Analysis
Figma Design Agent → Design System Creation
I'm currently learning and building a more connected workflow that links research, ideation, design systems, and prototyping together.

Every accessibility challenge is different.
The challenge isn't building another location discovery app.
It's building a platform that helps people make informed decisions with confidence before they even leave home.
Phase 1 is officially complete.
Phase 2 has begun. 🚀
