After 22 years of full-time jobs, I got laid off. Not the opening line I planned on, but the honest one. It forced a question I'd never had to ask: what if I built things myself, instead of plugging into someone else's process? So I went all-in on studying how to work with LLMs, as a new way to design and build. I stopped starting from UX architecture and started starting from functionallity: what does this actually need to do, right now, for a real person? Two projects came out of that shift. Both live, both mine end to end: 1) defranez.com > my own portfolio, my career, my skills, showing not only main projects, but also sharing all that represents me as a Designer. 2) quinta-helvecia.com.ar > a rental business site, built from zero: landing, availability calendar, lead capture, its own backend with Admin. "End to end" here isn't just design files: → Discovery and research the way I always have, now paired with Hotjar-style testing to validate real behavior instead of assumptions. → Auditing with Vercel and Claude Code agents to bake in best practices, Google standards, and accessibility from day one. → Configuring the backend and database myself, not handing it off → SEO, mobile-first layout, motion in the interactions, and yes, photo and video editing when the project calls for it, can´t avoid using photoshop =). → Figma wired straight into code, so design and implementation stop being two separate jobs, First time I can own the whole process. The market is rough right now, no sugarcoating that. But rebuilding my process from scratch is the most energized I've felt about this work in years. Open to Senior/Lead Product Design roles — contractor or full-time, remote-first. Web3, marketplace, SaaS, and gaming are where I fit best.
