Renovating a century-old Boston office building is rewarding. Transforming one floor into a modern workplace while preserving historical charm is challenging yet exciting. Blending old and new creates a dynamic space reflecting the city’s evolution. Honored to contribute to this historic landmark’s modernization.
What if a city's landmark became one of its letters?
A typography experiment: 8 city wordmarks where one letter is replaced by the skyline's most iconic shape.
Karachi: Mazar-e-Quaid for the "A"
Islamabad: Faisal Mosque for the "M"
Lahore: Minar-e-Pakistan for the "A"
Paris: Eiffel Tower for the "A"
Dublin: Spire of Dublin for the "I"
Dubai: Burj Khalifa for the "I"
London: London Eye for the "O"
Berlin: Brandenburg Gate for the "N"
The challenge was keeping the lettering light and clean while each landmark still reads as part of the word. Some are drawn in fine line work and others as solid silhouettes, depending on the shape of the building.
