Three ways scroll can drive a 3D scene, and what each one sells.
1. Scrub. The scroll position is the timeline of the model's animation. Forward builds, back deconstructs. Best for funnels: every piece that lands can carry one argument, and the page ends on a single CTA.
2. One move per gesture. Each wheel tick or swipe triggers exactly one step, and the page moves in the direction of that step: right, up, down. I did it with a Rubik's cube that starts scrambled and ends solved. Best for product tours: one decision at a time, visible progress.
3. Orbit. The model stays centre stage, the camera circles it and the copy sits on panels in the 3D scene. Lights come up as you go. Best for a flagship product page where the object itself is the argument.
Same pipeline for all three: a GLB from Blender, Three.js, no framework, under 200 KB of JavaScript, works on phones. Models by
@Miriam Vargas (3D artist, worth a follow). All three are live in my work section. Which one fits your product?
