Rejected.
I have received countless offers to make a dating app before. Each time I rejected.
Let’s put religion aside for a moment.
I know many of you aren’t interested in that angle. Let’s talk about it morally.
Dating apps don’t just connect people.
They also normalize disposable relationships.
Swipe.
Match.
Ghost.
Repeat.
Commitment becomes optional.
Accountability becomes rare.
When relationships turn into endless choices,
people stop trying to fix what they have
and start chasing what’s next.
That has consequences.
Broken trust, broken families, emotional damage we rarely talk about.
This isn’t about judging anyone who uses them. It’s about being honest about what we build as engineers.
Just because we can build something
doesn’t mean we should.
Every product shapes behavior.
Every line of code has an impact.
