Hey folks! Over the weekend I built a new tool for better mockups and launch-ready shots and wanted to share it here.
Shots.so is good — but it’s limited to predefined gradient backgrounds, with no filters, no live / reactive backgrounds, and no text or layout control.
So I built my own version: bettershots.pages.dev
It’s a browser-based studio for screenshots that look like a launch:
Browser & device frames: Safari, Chrome, Arc, Firefox, Edge + 30+ device angles with perspective-warped screens.
Real 3D devices: Orbitable iPhones, iPads, MacBooks with proper lighting and shadows.
300+ moving backgrounds: holographic, mesh, dark, wallpapers + 60+ live shader effects.
Reactive art: sound‑driven water, liquid metal, heatmaps and smoke that can use your logo or text.
Full scene control: background, camera, light, shadow, filters — all live, no rendering queues.
Exports: 4K stills, MP4 / WebM / GIF, or copy to clipboard.
Runs fully in your browser, nothing uploaded — great for landing pages, app store shots and launch posts.

A, for me, the pixel filter keeps the light source readable while still breaking up the image. dither tends to flatten everything into the same texture regardless of what's actually in the frame.
