Being a logo designer doesn't mean using only premade mock-up i mean if we take mock up out of your work what's left not much that's why i don't use them or create my own and its rare (modeling take time) or just to vary but you can do in shape in illustration ect without overusing the same template we see everywhere with different application or one adapted to the brand
I made in 2019 we all come from somewhere i wasn't into mockup or logo either, this was one my few first logo but i had strong skills in mixing color & shape. Playing with shape and color is exactly what made an excellent logo designer
