Here’s a little collection of sketches I made during a recent logo project. As an illustrator and designer, I genuinely love the sketching process (maybe sometimes a bit too much!).
And it’s not just sketching — researching, thinking, and vectorizing everything takes time too. I know AI can generate dozens of logos in seconds, way faster than me. Not that I’m against it — I actually asked ChatGPT to check this writing since English isn’t my first language.
But sometimes I can’t help wondering: does my process still matter?
I don’t really know. But I like to think that design, in many ways, is also a form of service. And as humans, maybe our tiny advantage is being able to make that process warmer, more thoughtful, and a little more… human?

@Keke Shen Totally agree! The beauty of design lives in the process itself: in the thinking, exploration and meaning behind every choice, not just in the final look.

@Tony Lure Absolutely, it’s a valuable process for both the designer and the client, and also for the design itself!

@Keke Shen love this so many cool sketch options there!! and totally agree AI design will always feel "cold", I also think that our ability to empathize with a customer's problems and help them serve their user's better, is always going to be the human advantage.

@Adriano Reis Thanks so much! I totally agree, empathy is exactly what makes us and our work human, and it’s such a huge part of the value we bring as designers 🥹

@Keke Shen i love this reflection! i have a similar feeling with writing. i think AI can be a helpful partner, but the end result never feels the same if we use AI to "skip steps". you still have to think, try, make mistakes, edit, try again, etc. like all things, you can't really know...

@Andrea DiNardo Exactly! It's a good helper, but you have to learn to make the best decision based on your taste, experience, and understanding of the world 🙋‍♀️
