This spring, Superside brought me in as layout production support for a data-heavy global report of almost 400 pages, full of charts, imagery and text, on a three-week timeline.

The design and an early data merge setup were already in place. My job was to make them hold up at scale and carry production through to print-ready files. I extended the data merge template so it drove almost every element on the page, with charts generated straight from the master spreadsheet, which cut production time massively. I also formalised the design itself: spacing, element placement and typographic hierarchy, defined as rules instead of approximations, so the last page follows the same logic as the first.

This is the kind of work I love: dense, structured content where the system has to be as precise as the design.
