How we generated 30+ REAL sales for a solar panel business with just $1,568 in ad spend (Cost per Sale = $50) ☀️📉
The solar energy market is highly competitive, and standard lead generation ads often bring in low-quality or extremely expensive leads (high CPL). But what happens if you change the rules of the game?
In this case study, I want to share one of our recent successful campaigns where we ditched traditional Lead Forms and implemented a Quiz Marketing + Growth Hacking strategy.

Total Ad Spend: $1,568.63
Generated Leads (Quiz Completions): 401 leads (at just $3.91 CPL)
Messaging Conversations Started: 232
CLOSED DEALS (Sales): 30+ 🤝
Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC / Cost per Sale): Only ~$50!
Securing a $50 Cost per Sale for solar panel installations (a high-ticket product) is a fantastic metric that guarantees a massive ROAS (Return on Ad Spend).
What made this campaign different and why did it work?
The Power of the Quiz Funnel: Instead of trying to push a hard sell immediately, we engaged users with an interactive quiz (e.g., "Calculate how much you'll save on electricity in 1 year"). This didn't just skyrocket our Conversion Rate (CR); it gamified the experience for the potential buyer.
Pre-qualification: Through the quiz questions, we already knew the potential customer's house type, monthly energy bill, and specific needs before the sales team even picked up the phone. As you can see in the attached chart, the vast majority of our leads (73.7%) were highly targeted, warm prospects. The sales team's only job was to step in and close the deal.
Growth Hacking Approach: Working with a minimal budget, we aggressively tested 9 different creatives under a single campaign structure (1 Campaign, 9 Ads). This allowed us to find the winning combination that drove a low CPC and maximum engagement.
This result proves one thing: the size of your budget matters less than having a properly built funnel and an optimized User Journey. Managing the full cycle correctly—from Creative Generation to Landing Page CRO—is exactly what delivers numbers like these.
