Follow up on last week's environment build. This shot took just over a week to build between look development renders for this 5-second shot. The ask: Client was looking for a 1970s NYC environment scene to composite under a 2D character animation. There are quite a few layers just to build the foundation of the shot, including matching the camera + skyline parallax with an image plane. In future breakdowns, we will dig into the camera effects that took this from obnoxious CGI to stylized render, such as camera fringing, vignette, film distress, depth of field, mist pass, and lens distortion. 🎥 💻 🌳
