Idea: swap the doom-scroll for a scroll that tells you about the life around you 😄 so I built a small bird tracker 🐦
An esp32 with an omnidirectional I2S mic listens to the birds around me. The backend does the heavy lifting: matching calls with BirdNET, with JEV deciding which sightings are worth surfacing.
Added some mystique to the UI with Rive. The card-back artwork isn't GenAI. It's a custom shader I built, inspired by colourful metal nanoparticles and Madhubani art.
Took it to Cubbon Park in Bengaluru and it picked up so many birds ✨
