Your homepage animates the wrong thing. Last week I pulled up the site of a three-person YC company building AI inference routing. Their entire product is one decision: send this request to a local model, this one to a cheap one, this one to a frontier model. That decision was a paragraph. Static text, halfway down the page. The only thing moving on the site was a decorative element in the background. Motion is an instruction. Whatever moves is what you just told the buyer to look at. And most SaaS sites animate the safest thing on the screen — a gradient, a mesh, a background loop — because it's cheap to build and impossible to get wrong. So the eye goes to the decoration, and the brain has to do the real work by reading. Find the one decision your product makes that a buyer can't get from a sentence. Animate that. Ten seconds is enough. I emailed the founder with that single observation. He replied the same day. The animation wasn't the pitch. Noticing was.
