Krok is a chaotic and inventive frog who lives in a hidden creative workshop inside an abandoned industrial building. He sees possibilities where everyone else sees junk.
For the Cantina Challenge, I created Krokβs pilot episode: a 60-second animated short where his improvised engineering turns a pile of discarded metal into a homemade transforming robot.
The goal was to explore how a character can be more than a visual design, giving him a recognizable personality, environment, sense of humor, and a story engine that can generate future episodes.
Krokβs creative philosophy is simple:
Build first. Figure out why later.
The episode combines character animation, visual comedy, sound-driven storytelling and a handmade scrap-metal aesthetic to introduce the character and his chaotic world.
This project was created entirely in Cantina, from character development to the final pilot.Β
Hey everyone! π Iβm Lou, one of the Cantina Ambassadors. Really excited to see what everyone creates for the Contra x Cantina Creator Challenge.
I wanted to kick things off by sharing the first episode of my micro-series, Platform 13. π¬
Iβve been experimenting a lot with cinematic storytelling, character development, atmosphere, camera work, and figuring out just how far I can push a story inside Cantina.
Would love to see what youβre all working on too! Drop your characters, pilots, experiments, weird ideas, or anything else youβve been creating in the feed. It's going to be amazing to see how everyone approaches this differently!
If youβve submitted your Cantina username for Creator Studio access, youβll receive a push notification from Cantina once access has been granted. Creator Studio is the tool youβll use to create your pilot episode for the Challenge.
While youβre waiting for access, you can start creating your original character in Cantina! Character creation does not require Creator Studio access so we encourage you to get started on your character now.
Once you receive the notification, youβll be ready to jump into Creator Studio + bring your pilot episode to life.
The Cantina challenge is now LIVE with $50,000 in prizes πΈ
