Which AKARI Design Looks Better? 🍣
I’ve been working on AKARI (あかり) — a Japanese food restaurant website that I’m building both as a real-shop-ready concept and as a showcase of my web design & development work.
I’ve made two different versions of the design, and I want the Contra community to decide which direction looks better.

I’d lean toward Design A—the bolder structure gives the restaurant a clearer point of view, while the centered dish still keeps the page inviting. The restrained palette and generous whitespace make the food do the talking.

It might sound something like this:
“Hey… we need to talk.”
“You keep sending paid traffic to me, but you haven't updated my homepage since 2022.”
“Half the services you offer now aren't even mentioned here.”
“That popup everyone hates? Yeah. Still here.”
“And please stop uploading 7MB images. I'm tired.”

Jokes aside, websites often become the most neglected employee in the business.
They work 24/7.
They meet almost every new prospect.
They answer questions.
They introduce your services.

Yet businesses sometimes spend months improving everything except the thing customers see first.
