Flow — Stablecoin Settlement App for Freelancers
End-to-end product design for Flow—a premium fintech mobile application that bridges Web3 liquidity and local daily spending for African freelancers via L2 stablecoins and physical Visa debit cards.

Overview
African freelancers earn millions in USD-pegged stablecoins (USDC/USDT), but face immense friction off-ramping to local currency—enduring manual P2P trading risks, opaque exchange rates, and up to 5% slippage per transaction.
Flow solves this by acting as an "invisible Web3" settlement layer. It combines non-custodial Layer-2 wallets (Base, Polygon, Arbitrum) with a physical Visa debit card that auto-converts crypto to local Naira instantly at the point of sale (POS or ATM).
As the Senior Product Designer, I designed the end-to-end mobile experience from zero to high-fidelity prototype, prioritizing radical transparency, physical-digital card continuity, and trust-building UX patterns.
Key Design & Product Solutions
Payment Intentionality & FX Transparency
Designed a conversion storytelling model where every transaction visually breaks down the USD amount spent, live FX rates ($1 = ₦1587), network fees, and settled Naira.
Auto-Convert & Asset Priority Engine
Designed a drag-and-drop Spending Priority interface that allows freelancers to set custom asset deduction order (e.g., spend USDC balance first, fallback to USDT automatically).
Tactile Card Center & Precision Controls
Crafted a realistic matte-black card hero with live status toggles, freeze overlays, and dual slider + numeric keypad controls for setting precision spending and ATM limits.
Real-time Reassurance & Micro-interactions
Built instant post-swipe POS notification overlays featuring live balance countdown animations to provide immediate psychological closure after daily purchases.
Serious Financial Analytics
Created a non-crypto exchange-style analytics hub focusing purely on inflow/outflow balance tracking, weekly net changes, and filtered stablecoin transaction histories.

The idea of making a career app feel more like a companion than a platform is pretty smart. The 3D character fits that direction really well too.
Maqtorah is a two-sided marketplace for moving livestock, equipment, furniture basically anything bulky across Saudi Arabia. Customer posts a shipment, transporters bid on it, delivery gets tracked live. We worked with Ali Aldughairi on both apps: the customer side and the driver side.
A major part of the project involved building RTL support into the user interface. Not just flipping the layout, the actual hard part was mixed-direction content. Order IDs, IBANs, phone numbers, SAR amounts these are Latin strings sitting inside Arabic sentences, and RTL doesn't have a clean answer for that out of the box. We had to work out a rule that held up on a chat screen, a checkout screen, a tracking screen, all differently, and make sure none of them broke when the numbers got longer or the names got longer.
Then there was the density challenge. A single freight request has cargo type, route, receiver info, timing, vehicle needs a lot to carry on a 375px screen. A transporter scanning bids needs to decide in a few seconds whether something's worth their time, and a customer comparing five offers needs to trust the price without having to think too hard about it. Getting that hierarchy right took a few passes.
The two apps also needed to feel like they were built for completely different people. Customer app leans on trust profiles, vehicle photos, ETA, that kind of thing, all visible before you commit. Driver app is the opposite: stripped down for someone driving, checking their phone for two seconds at a time. We ended up with something we called Road Mode, where geofencing picks up most of the status changes automatically and the driver's really just tapping Loaded and Delivered.
By the end we had a full Figma design system for both apps, onboarding through payout, built so it can stretch to new cargo types or new regions later without starting over.
One thing I'm still chewing on: how much should a driver app automate away versus leave in the driver's hands? Curious where others land on that.

The Variable logo design process went in many directions before we arrived at the final version. The initial brand name was different and the team had done some early design exploration through AI. I began by expanding on their present vision, but the more we reviewed that design direction, the more the founders realized they wanted to explore something new. After a company name change to Variable, we started from scratch with original concepts. After a fresh discovery session, we arrived at the handwritten wordmark. Early on we had a toy block graphic element that accompanied the logo text, but shifted that to the hand-drawn triangle graphic element to maintain minimalism while still depicting early education.
