One of my favorite projects is the one I am not working on anymore... Not because it's done hehe, but because I did everything I could to help them run their website and campaigns on their own. I kinda feel like a mama bird, teaching everything you can to your clients, letting them fly on their own. 🐦‍⬛ ✨ When I first came to the project, they had a hard-coded eCommerce website that needed a developer to make any updates for upcoming campaigns (read: change the banner photo). We weren't able to filter by color or change the search because the development team running the site was of opinion "big companies made this default, they know better than you". (the audacity, ik) My client was spending so much energy on back and forth with the developer, trying to do some workarounds and save money ( to paint a picture: we had a PDF on the page because "you can't do a new page that easily"). It was hard to watch someone so brilliant get tackled by technicality, bad technicality. So we talked, I asked her what is important for her to have on the website, how she sees it, (because at the end of the day, it's her business!) and we came up with a brief (or UX strategy, how I like to call it). She found an amazing new agency and we setup the webshop so she can update the banners and add new pages whenever she wants. ✅ We created templates for social media, newsletters and campaign visuals in Figma. ✅ We setup the automated emails in the backend so customers don't fall through the funnel (like abandoned cart). ✅ We made the site user friendly, watched analytics and did improvements to increase conversion. Her business started to grow and get back on its feet because she finally had time to focus on visibility, next products as the webshop was running smoothly on its own. When you have systems in place, you can focus on the real things that makes your business run smoothly. You just have to have someone who understands you and supports you to create those systems. ✨
