1. Audit your current site, list all pages - export to Excel. Gather traffic stats, backlinks, and top-performing keywords.
2. Plan Your URL Structure- keep URLs consistent if possible, preserve slugs.
3. If changes are needed, implement 301 redirects from old URLs to new ones
4.Maintain metadata & content - ensure titles, meta descriptions, H1s, and alt texts migrate intact
5. Update sitemap.xml and robots.txt.
6. Ensure proper canonical tags.
7. Test mobile responsiveness and page speed.
8. Avoid redirect chains.
9. Monitor after launch -watch Google Search Console for crawl errors
