I’ve worked with 12+ agencies by now. Some multiple times, some just once.
The ones I keep working with have three things in common.
Handoffs are detailed. Loom, organized Figma, style guide. Everything’s there. I’m not chasing down files or clarifying what they want.
Communication is clear during builds. Specific feedback, structured QA, fast responses when I’m stuck. No multi-day waits that block progress.
Transparent about pricing and scope. If something changes, they tell me. Not disguising scope creep as “small adjustments.”
The agencies I don’t work with again? Usually missing one of these. Good design work, but the process creates friction.
Repeat work comes from smooth collaboration, not just good portfolios.
