We designed an ADHD app that keeps the word ADHD off its daily screens. It's Coastal Neuro Group's parent app. The everyday screens use words like attention, focus and regulation, and the ADHD framing stays in onboarding. Ami Hansji, the founder, then used the same rule for the patient headers in the practitioner portal.

Great design Daniel I honestly see the ADHD is a natural not a symptom but it considered a symptom because it doesn't match or modern society traditions

Really thoughtful UX decision! Focusing on progress and daily habits instead of constantly reminding parents about ADHD makes the experience feel more supportive and less clinical. A good example of how small wording choices can make a big difference.

Such a thoughtful call. Nobody wants a label staring back at them every time they open an app, focusing on what they're working on feels way more supportive

Love that the founder took your rule into the practitioner portal too, best kind of feedback

The language choice is thoughtful—daily screens already have enough jobs without becoming a glossary 😅 How did you test whether parents found the wording clearer while still understanding the context?
