Signal Lock: an effect where a clip locks in out of static. For the first 2.5 seconds after a marker, the footage becomes a flat two-colour graphic, blocky with scanlines at first, sharpening until the shape locks in, then a white sweep and a flash back to the real footage. Because it's built from a marker and a few settings, it works on any clip. The idea and the colour choices are mine; the invideo Editor agent (I named it Moxy, Ultra mode) did the building.
Starting footage: two AI-generated clips of my own, a ribbon silhouette and a dune at dusk, on a blank timeline in invideo Editor.
What I asked the agent: I placed a marker and described the look in plain words, told it not to generate anything, and had it build the effect as layers on my timeline. It asked for my colours, which parts of the picture to light up, and how to handle the black bars. Red on near-black for the ribbon, acid green on navy for the dune: same effect, different shot.
What I refined: the first pass was muddy, so I told the agent to raise the threshold so only the strongest areas stay lit.
Every layer stays editable on the public timeline.
