SHORTCUT | Missed the Flight. Enjoyed the Adventure.
From Dubai to Los Angeles, an ordinary airport chair becomes the ultimate shortcut.
Created for the CapCut World LA Challenge, SHORTCUT is an original, action-packed sci-fi adventure that reimagines what it means to arrive.
When a young creator from Dubai receives an invitation from CapCut to attend CapCut World LA, he's ready for the journey of a lifetime. But there's one problem: he misses his flight.
Just when all hope seems lost, an unexpected discovery changes everything — a hidden CapCut SHORTCUT MODE built into an ordinary airport chair.
What follows is anything but ordinary: a futuristic transformation, a high-speed airport escape, and a spectacular flight across iconic world landmarks, culminating in an extraordinary arrival in Los Angeles.
My vision was simple: Don't just show the arrival. Make the journey unforgettable.
Rather than creating a conventional challenge video, I set out to deliver a complete cinematic experience, combining original storytelling, high-energy action, imaginative visual design, and the production values of a premium international commercial.
Because with CapCut, imagination doesn't have to follow the usual route.
Missed the flight. Enjoyed the adventure.

Stepping Through Art History to CapCut World LA 🎨✨ → 📍Audrey Irmas Pavilion
For the "Unexpected Arrival" theme, I wanted to blur the boundary between classic human artistry and next-gen AI filmmaking. Instead of a standard commute to Los Angeles, the journey pulls me directly through living, breathing masterpieces—from the swirling skies of Van Gogh’s The Starry Night and the crashing barrels of Hokusai’s The Great Wave, all the way to the iconic trapezoidal facade and barrel-vaulted ceiling of the Audrey Irmas Pavilion for CapCut World LA.
How I built it:
AI Generation & Continuity: Built as a connected 9-scene sequence using Seedance 2.5 inside CapCut, maintaining character consistency and fluid motion across completely distinct artistic styles and eras.
Editing & Polish in CapCut: Stitched and paced the transitions so each painting seamlessly morphs into the next dimension, combining keyframe camera momentum, color matching, and immersive sound design to make the final arrival in LA hit with maximum impact.
Why I built it:
Every era of art had its own medium—from oil on canvas and woodblock prints to digital timelines. AI and CapCut are the new canvas. I built this piece to celebrate how creative technology lets us step inside our wildest visual ideas and bring them to life in seconds.
Brilliant concept Pedro! 🎨 Stepping through Art History for an "Unexpected Arrival" is genius - blurring classic human artistry with next-gen AI filmmaking is such a powerful angle. Love the creative take on the journey to Audrey Irmas Pavilion instead of a standard commute. Can't wait to see the full piece!
One-take cinematic AI film production
This is an FPV drone flight through a city during a solar eclipse.
The camera moves from a crowded square to a football stadium without any cuts or transitions. I wanted to show how people react when something unusual happens, and routine...
That FPV one-take through the city during the eclipse is insane Evgeniya! No cuts from crowded square to football stadium - the continuity is wild for AI film. Love the concept of showing how people react when something unusual breaks the routine. True cinematic AI done right!
Just one last minute but too late, the video wasn't loaded on time... 😭😭🥲
Well .. I tried.
