Hey, I’m looking for a video editor for my 18-year-old son, Syaire Barnes, who is a serious basketball player and point guard.
We’re launching a YouTube channel documenting his basketball journey. He’s currently 7 days away from returning to Phelps Prep, so we’re starting with a “7 Days Until Phelps” series.
We have footage from his childhood (around age 6) all the way to now at 18, and I want the first video to tell that story — childhood footage → development → high school → where he is now → transition into his current training and countdown to Phelps.
The goal is NOT just highlight videos. I want a cinematic, authentic basketball-documentary feel that shows the work, personality, struggles, development, games, recruiting, and ultimately where this journey takes him.
We’ll be creating long-form YouTube content and repurposing it into TikToks, Reels, and Shorts.
I’m looking for someone with a strong eye for storytelling and basketball content who can take raw footage and find the moments that matter without needing to be micromanaged.
I’m interested in starting with a paid test project and potentially building a long-term relationship throughout his season.
